National Pit Bull Appreciation Day at AC&C

Pit bulls face a grim reality in New York City. Due to their bad rap, they are forced into fighting, used as guard dogs by drug dealers, or get dumped at shelters. Last year, about 45% of the 10,864 stray dogs brought to New York City Animal Care and Control were pit bull mixes.
AC&C ends up with most of the pit bull mixes because, unlike the ASPCA, the Humane Society
