The city Department of Homeless Services is recruiting 3,000 New Yorkers age 18 and older as volunteers to canvass parks, subways and other public spaces on January 26 as part of "HOPE 2015", the DHS annual Homeless Outreach Population Estimate.
The count will be used to estimate the number of people who are living unsheltered in New York City.
