Last week, despite hundreds of thousands of emails alerting members to the effects of an amendment that would, for the first time, cut retiree pensions, Congress passed the legislation.
The new law, as Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders put it, lets “companies renege on promises they made to their workers" by cutting current retirees' pension benefits.
