City Council Passes Tax-Free Transit Benefits Bill

According to Riders Alliance, the New York City Council has passed a bill, Intro 295-A, drafted by Council Member Dan Garodnick, that would save an estimated 450,000 MTA commuters an average of $443 a year on bus and subway fares by allowing them to set aside up to $130 a month in pre-tax dollars to buy Metrocards.
