Metrocard Van at Marty Golden's Office

On Monday, November 3 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, State Senator Marty Golden will host the MTA MetroCard Van at his Bay Ridge district office at 7408 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge.



The Metro Card Van gives local residents the option of doing all their MetroCard business, including refilling Reduced Fare or regular MetroCards and getting MTA information, right here in the neighborhood.

EDC Kills the Rockaway Ferry

Subway Ridership Broke Records this Year

Subway ridership in New York City is at record levels. Last month, the record for single-day ridership was broken five times. On Tuesday, September 23, 6,106,694 customers rode the subway: the highest ridership on record. On four other September days, ridership passed 6 million, and the 149 million riders that month topped every other September for over 60 years.

In a letter to the MTA, City Council Member Vinnie Gentile has called for a full audit of the R train line, the commuter lifeline for Bay Ridge.

Now that R service through the Montague Street Tunnel has resumed, after a year-long suspension due to Superstorm Sandy, Gentile said, riders complain that service is worse than ever:  not enough trains, late trains, and overcrowded old cars.
