Bensonhurst Landlord to Serve Time in Deathtrap Fire that Killed Five

In a precedent-setting outcome, Vasilios Gerazounis, owner of the illegally-subdivided three-story brick building at 2033 86th Street in Bensonhurst where five Guatemalan immigrants died in a fire on January 30, 2010, pled guilty on October 15 to criminally negligent homicide and will be sentenced in February 2015 to 1-3 years in prison.
